![]() Easy Leaf TubeBeginners Guide to Using PSP Picture TubesTutorial for Paint Shop Pro written by Arizona Kate, ©2000 This tutorial will walk you thru making and using Paint Shop Pro Picture Tubes...commonly called 'tubes'. It is a quick and easy tutorial and was written with PSP beginners in mind! A tube (or .tub) file is a collection of related images within one file. A .tub image can be used like a rubber stamp...painting the tube over and over to create another, new image....or it can be used as an image by itself. By following this tutorial, you will create your own custom leaf tube. First we'll make a set of tiny leaves, then we'll convert those leaves to a .tub file, then we'll use the leaf tube to create an easy "folk art" or "toon" style tree and a topiary. With these easy leaves, you could also make a wreath or something else out of your own imagination! This tutorial was written for Paint Shop Pro 7. Users of older versions should be able to follow along as long as they have the tube tool. Keep in mind that some tools or tool names may be different in older versions. Before we start, please review the following notes: In this tutorial I will ask you to right click (RC) to select most of the menu choices. In addition to using RC, you can also do many actions using standard menu choices, keyboard shortcuts, or buttons on the Tool Options Palette. In fact, quite often there will be at least 3 different ways you can do the same action in Paint Shop Pro. After a while, you'll settle in to your own way of doing things ...you may prefer keyboard shortcuts to right click...either way is correct! If you are using a pen tablet, you can right click using the clicker on the side of the pen. If this doesn't seem to work, you may have to change your tablet settings. The step-by-step part of these tutorials are on separate 'printer-friendly' pages. Permission is herein granted for individuals to save or print tutorials for personal use only...please do not distribute by email or otherwise. Too many free tutorials have been taken offline because of copyright abuse! We don't want to see them all disappear, do we? Please link to or bookmark THIS start page, not the following pages. Notes about updates, error corrections and other important information will be on this page. go to page 2
or, if you've already finished making the tube... go directly to or to Note: After surveying many tutorial users...it seems the majority prefer tutorials that are on one long page rather than multiple short pages...and I agree! This makes it easier to print out or save for offline use...however, it also means it will take a little longer for some pages to load...please be patient! |
